Hey Reader,
It’s been a while, but I’m back with some quick tips and resources to boost your virtual facilitation, teaching, and event hosting skills!
|
|
|
Quick Tip 1: Zoom Push-to-Talk 🚀
Did you know Zoom has a Push-to-Talk feature? Stay muted in meetings and unmute yourself temporarily by holding the space bar to speak. It’s a great way to keep background noise under control!
- Click your profile picture in Zoom and select Settings.
- Go to Audio.
- Check Press and hold “Space” key to temporarily unmute yourself.

Quick Tip 2: Clean Up Your Zoom Gallery 🧹
Want a cleaner view in the Zoom Gallery? Hide participants who have their video turned off to focus on those who are actively on camera. This is especially helpful for facilitators who want to ensure active participants remain the focal point.
- In the top-right corner of the meeint window, click View.
- Select Hide Non-video Participants to remove participants without video from your view.
To show them again, click View and select Show Non-Video Participants.
In larger groups, especially when the gallery spans multiple pages, you might see a sea of black boxes with names instead of faces. Sometimes, active cameras are even hidden on a second or third page, making it easy to miss valuable engagement.
