Hey #FaciliFam, Yesterday Zoom released version 6.7 - yes, I said 6.7 and yes, I am sorry. π My first reaction was exactly what you expect. Another update to decode? πThen I clicked around and β¦ okay. Some of this is genuinely useful. I pulled out the updates that actually matter for people who facilitate online sessions. P.S. Due to popular demand, I added two new December dates for my Getting Started with OBS Studio and Stream Deck trainings - details at the end! π¨ Cleaner InterfaceSimplified Meeting Toolbar: Only essential tools are visible by default. You can pin your favorites, and Zoom remembers them. Result: less hunting for mute while forty people silently judge your clicking skills. Unified Modern Design: Desktop, mobile, and web now look and behave the same. Giving instructions is finally easier, because participants actually see what you see. π― Better Meeting ControlHost Tools in One Place: Host tools and meeting feature settings are consolidated into the right panel. No more menu-hopping mid-session to change one tiny setting. Settings in Sidebar: Audio, video, and meeting settings open without taking over your screen. You stay present while adjusting things on the fly. π Content ProtectionScreen Capture Protection: When enabled by the admin, participants cannot capture screenshots of shared content. Great news for proprietary frameworks and client-sensitive material. Note: This doesn't prevent phone cameras or external recording devices. π Post-Session Insights & ContentParticipant Engagement Analytics: See talk time percentages for all attendees. (Hello Butter π) Search Within Video Transcripts: Search for keywords and jump straight to that moment in the recording. Perfect for highlights, clips, or finding that one brilliant comment. π How to UpdateThe latest version should be rolled out for everyone by now. You can check and update manually if you want to be sure: 1. Open Zoom > Click your profile picture > "Check for Updates"
2. Install when prompted (takes a few minutes, requires restart)
3. Verify you're on version 6.7.0 in "About Zoom"
There have been a lot of other changes happening quietly in the background, but these are the main ones worth your attention right now. Before your next session, take a few minutes to re-check your setup. Muscle memory needs a warm-up after this UI refresh. Try these features in your next session and see what actually improves your flow. And as always, I am curious what you discover. ποΈ Upcoming EventsReady to actually control and enjoy Zoom Sessions? Hey FaciliFam, Do you feel invisible when facilitating online? Like a small face in a box? π Not a philosophical question. I mean literally. If you: - Scramble for buttons mid-sentence while trying to hold eye contact. - Run sessions that feel generic - no visual identity, just another Zoom call. - Charge less than you are worth because your on-screen presence hides your value. This is not a content problem. It is a production problem. The Difference In Practice You shouldn't rely on content...
Hey #FaciliFam, If you are new to Stream Deck, or yours has been quietly collecting dust, you are in the right place. Three simple button types. Each one takes a few minutes to set up and immediately changes how your sessions feel. No steep learning curve. Just powerful little buttons that do exactly what you need, when you need them. The magic is not the hardware. It is what happens when actions become muscle memory. You switch less, react faster, and your sessions feel calmer and more in...
Hey #FaciliFam, your virtual room is your stage - and with OBS Studio and a virtual camera, you control how it looks and feels. And it does not have to be complicated. A few intentional choices create a setup that feels polished, personal, and purposeful - no fancy effects required. Here is the simple foundation I recommend. It already covers about 85 percent of what you will need. Clean, intentional, reliable. Your Virtual Stage If this is new to you, here is the short version: OBS is a free...
