I get mixed feelings whenever this happens to a tool I love. Remember when Miro bought Butter last year? RIP. 😔

I've been asked about alternatives all week, like I'm the whiteboard customer service. 🤷🏽‍♂️ So let's talk about one.

Meet Collaboard

Collaboard is a Swiss-made whiteboard that keeps things simple. Real-time collaboration, sticky notes, mind maps, drawing tools, a solid template library. No feature you'll spend a Tuesday afternoon discovering you never needed. And AI only shows up when you invite it in (more on that below).

Miro does more. Collaboard does less. On purpose, and charges less for it.

Already on Miro? Bring your boards with you

👉🏽 You don't have to start from zero. Two steps:

In Miro: Export this board > Save as image > Vector. You get a PDF.
In Collaboard: three dots (top right) > Import from PDF > Miro. Upload the file.

Stickies, text, shapes, and lines come across editable. Drawings and mind maps arrive as images, so plan to redo those. Import needs Advanced, so run it during your trial. Same trick works for Mural boards.
